CongressionalBadBoys.com | home | ABSCAM ABSCAM This was an FBI sting operation, leading to the arrest of several Congressmen.  The FBI created "Abdul Enterprises, Ltd" in 1978, with FBI agents posing as Middle East businessmen.  The purpose was to determine which Congressmen would fall for bribes. The Congressional BadBoys were taped accepting money at a fake company office.   Over 30 Congressmen were targeted, and these were convicted of bribery and conspiracy:   Harrison Williams (Democrat-New Jersey);   John Jenrette (Democrat-South Carolina);   Richard Kelly (Republican-Florida);  Raymond Lederer (Democrat-Pennsylvania);   Michael "Ozzie" Myers (Democrat-Pennsylvania);   Frank Thompson (Democrat-New Jersey). John Murtha (Democrat-Pennsylvania) was a target, but not indicted.
